He was born in Belgrade in 1931. In 1955 he enrolled in Art History at the University of Belgrade. In 1962 he graduated from the Department of Art History University of Belgrade. In 1964 he graduated from the postgraduate studies at the Department of Aesthetics, Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. He is a visiting professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje.
